The frequency distribution table can be prepared as follows-

  \sum f_{i}=40 \sum x_{i}f_{i}=322

Mean

\bar{x}=\frac{\sum x_{i}f_{i}}{\sum f_{i}}=\frac{322}{40}=\frac{161}{20}=8.05

Hence, the mean is 8.05
