(i) a heart
(ii) a king

Answers (1)

(i) Answer. [13/49]
Solution. Probability; Probability means possibility. It is a branch of mathematics that deals with the occurrence of a random event. The value is expressed from zero to one
Total cards = 52 – 3                ( three cards are removed)
= 49
Total hearts = 13
Favourable cases = 13

Probability = \frac{Number\, of\, favourable\ cases }{Total\, number\, of\, cases}
Probability of getting a heart = \frac{13}{49}

(ii) Answer.  [3/49]
Solution. Probability; Probability means possibility. It is a branch of mathematics that deals with the occurrence of a random event. The value is expressed from zero to one
Total cards = 52 – 3    (  three cards are removed)

                                  = 49
Total king = 4 – 1 = 3 (  1 king is removed)
favourable cases = 3
probability = \frac{Number\, of\, favourable\ cases }{Total\, number\, of\, cases}
Probability of getting a King= \frac{3}{49}
