Set ‘X’ be the random variable for tail

\begin{aligned} &\text { Mean } E(X)=\sum_{i=1}^{n} X_{i} P_{i} \\ &=0 \times \frac{1}{8}+1 \times \frac{3}{8}+2 \times \frac{3}{8}+3 \times \frac{1}{8} \\ &=\frac{3}{8}+\frac{6}{8}+\frac{3}{8} \\ &=\frac{12}{8}=\frac{3}{2} \end{aligned}
