Blue Revolution is similar to Green Revolution but is more related to aquaculture. Aquaculture has been practiced in many parts of the world since time immemorial, but traditional methods have failed to improve productivity to keep the pace of growing demand. The use of scientific methods to improve the variety of fish products, better management of aquaculture products, improved catch, etc. come under the Blue Revolution.

The Blue Revolution is a government initiative in India designed to boost the production of fish and other aquatic products through aquaculture.

Goal:
The primary aim is to increase fish production and productivity while ensuring sustainability, and biosecurity, and addressing environmental concerns.

Activities:
The program focuses on modernizing fisheries, promoting entrepreneurship, and encouraging participation from economically disadvantaged communities.

Benefits:
It aims to improve food security, enhance nutrition, create better rural livelihoods, and stimulate economic growth, along with increasing export potential.

Initiator:
Hiralal Chaudhuri, often referred to as the "Father of the Blue Revolution," played a key role in launching the initiative.

A blue revolution has helped in improving fish production in many parts of India. It has also helped in improving the income of thousands of fishermen in our country.
