State which of the statements are true and which are false.

If length of a rectangle is halved and breadth is doubled then thearea of the rectangle obtained remains same.

Answers (1)

True
Let l and b are the length and breadth of a given rectangle respectively, whereas l’ and b’ are the dimensions of a new rectangle respectively.

Hence,

 \\\l'= \frac{1}{2}\times l\\\ and\; b' = 2b

Area of new rectangle = \\\l'b'= \frac{1}{2}l\times 2b= lb

Hence area remains same.
