The side of a square is 10cm. How many times will the new perimeter become if the side of the square is doubled?

Given ,

Side of square = 10 cm
Hence the perimeter of square = 4 × 10 cm =40 cm …… (i)
After doubling, new side of square = 2 × 10 cm = 20 cm
∴ Perimeter of new square = 4 × 20 cm = 80 cm
                                            = 2 × 40 cm …… (ii)
∴  New perimeter will be 2 times of the perimeter of given square.

Hence option (A) is correct.
