In what kind of plants do you come across ‘Kranz’ anatomy? To which conditions are those plants better adapted? How are these
plants better adapted than the plants, which lack this anatomy?

Kranz anatomy is usually present in C4 plants like maize, sugarcane, etc. C4 plants possess the power to tolerate high-temperature ranges and high light intensities. C4 plants are designed to effectively live in the presence of limited nitrogen and carbon dioxide sources. These factors help in the manufacturing of glucose easily. Therefore, C 3 plants produce less biomass as compared to C 4 plants. PEP carboxylase is an enzyme present in C4 plants and PEP carboxylase is unaffected by O?, so excess O? does not inhibit the C? pathway, allowing photosynthesis to continue efficiently in C? plants. As a result, C? plants are better suited to tropical and desert environments (hot and arid habitats) compared to plants without this specialized adaptation.
