X is sodium or potassium (Na or K) as it reacts with cold water.
Na or K reacts violently with cold water.

Y is magnesium (Mg) as it reacts with hot water.
Mg+2H_{2}O\rightarrow Mg\left ( OH \right )_{2}+H_{2}

Order of reactivity
Z < Y< X
