Hint:

A function has an inverse if it is one-one and onto.

Solution:

Let us check one-one

                g=\left \{ \left ( 5,4 \right ) ,\left ( 6,3 \right ),\left ( 7,4 \right ),\left ( 8,2 \right )\right \}

               

Since 5 and 7 have same image 4, g is not one-one.

Since g is not one-one, it doesn’t have an inverse.
