Use area of circle =\pi r^{2}

Side of square = a

Diameter of a circle = a                     {\because  circle inscribed in square}

Radius =\frac{a}{2}

Area =\pi r^{2}

 = \frac{\pi a^{2}}{4} cm^{2}      (Because Radius = \frac{a}{2}  )

Hence given statement is not true because area of circle inscribed in a square of side a cm is \frac{\pi a^{2}}{4} cm^{2}
