Will it be true to say that the perimeter of a square circumscribing a circle of radius a cm is 8a cm? Give reasons for your answer.

The perimeter of a square = 4 \times side

The radius of the circle = a

Diameter of circle =2 \times  radius= 2a

Side of square =diameter of circle= 2a

Perimeter of square =4 \times side=4 \times 2a=8a

The perimeter of a square is 8a

Hence, the given statement is true.
