Answer: 20.4 m

height of flag pole BC = 18 m

shadow AB = 9.6 m

In triangle BC using Pythagoras theorem

\\AC^{2}=AB^{2}+BC^{2}\\AC^{2}=\left ( 9.6 \right )^{2}+\left ( 18 \right )^{2}

\\AC^{2}=92.16+324\\AC^{2}=416.16\\AC=\sqrt{416.16}

AC=\sqrt{416.16}=20.4\; m

Hence distance of the top of the pole from the far end of the shadow is 20.4 m
