The shadow of a 3m long stick is 4m long. At the same time of the day, if the shadow of a flagstaff is 24m long, how tall is the flagstaff?

Answers (1)

Given: Length of the stick = 4m

The length it's shadow = 3m

The length of shadow of a flagstaff = 24m

Let the length of the flagstaff be = x m


\frac{3}{4}=\frac{x}{24}

x=\frac{3}{4} \times 24

x = 18 m

Hence the length of the flagstaff is 18 m.
