Given: Total number of pages in mathematics book =320 pages

The number of pages in the chapter 'symmetry' =272-261+1=12 pages

The ratio of the number of pages of this chapter to the total number of pages of the book 

\Rightarrow \frac{\text { Number of pages in the chapter 'symmetry' }}{\text { Total number of pages in the book }} =\frac{12}{320}=\frac{3}{80}\Rightarrow 3: 80

Option C is correct.
