Two green plants are kept separately in oxygen-free containers, one in the dark and the other in continuous light. Which one will live longer? Give reasons.
Answers (1)
The plant placed in the dark will die as it cannot perform photosynthesis and within some time, the whole chamber will be filled with carbon dioxide. On the other hand, the plant in the open sunlight will perform photosynthesis (and produce oxygen required for its respiration) and this plant lives for a longer duration.
