Solution:

The central nervous system consists of the brain and the spinal cord. The peripheral nervous system consists of all the nerves in the body that lie outside of the spinal cord and brain. The central nervous system has a well-developed system for its protection. The brain is enclosed in a hard shell known as a skull. The spinal cord is enclosed in a vertebral column for its protection. Along with these, there is cerebrospinal fluid which protects the brain from mechanical shocks.
