            \left ( b \right )b=-1,c=1

Hint:

        Use y=mx+c

Given:

            y=x Touches the curve y=x^{2}+bx+cat the point (1,1)

Solution:

y=x

Clearly ,m=1

y=x^{2}+bx+c                    (1)

Differentiate w.r.t, x_{1}we get

\frac{dy}{dx}=2x+b

Putting the point \left ( 1,1 \right )and m=1 in above curve

1=2\left ( 1 \right )+b

b=-1

Putting the point\left ( 1,1 \right ) in (1)

\begin{aligned} &1=(1)^{2}+b(1)+c \\ &1=1-1+c \quad \text { [Since } b=-1] \\ &c=1 \\ &\therefore b=-1, c=1 \end{aligned}
