Nazima gave 2\frac{3}{4} litres out of the 5\frac{1}{2} litres of juice she purchased to her friends. How many litres of juice is left with her?

Nazima have quantity of juice = 5 \frac{1}{2}\text{ litres }=\frac{11}{2}\text{ litres }
Nazima gave to her friends = 2 \frac{3}{4}\text{ litres }=\frac{11}{4}\text{ litres }
The remaining quantity of juice = =\left(\frac{11}{2}-\frac{11}{4}\right)\text{ litres }

LCM of 2,4 = 4

=\left(\frac{11 \times 2-11}{4}\right)\text{ litres }

=\frac{11}{4}\text{ litres }

=2 \frac{3}{4}\text{ litres }
