Answer: $x^{2}+y^{2}=400$

Hint: use pythagoras theorem.

Solution:

Length $=2x$

Breadth $= 2y$

$\begin{aligned} &\mathrm{AB}^{2}+\mathrm{BC}^{2}=\mathrm{AC}^{2} \\ \end{aligned}$

$(2 \mathrm{x})^{2}+(2 \mathrm{y})^{2}=(40)^{2} \\$

$4 \mathrm{x}^{2}+4 \mathrm{y}^{2}=1600 \\$

$\mathrm{x}^{2}+\mathrm{y}^{2}=400$
