Answer: option(c) x =1

Hint: For local maxima or minima, we must have $f'(x)=0$ .

Given: $f(x)=x^2+x+1$

Solution:

We have,

$f(x)=x^2+x+1$

$f(x)=2x+1$

For maxima and minima $f'(x)=0$

$\Rightarrow 2x+1$

$\Rightarrow x=\frac{-1}{2}\euro [0,1]$

At extreme points,

$f(0)=1>0$

$f(1)=1+1+1=3>0$

So, x = 1 is a local minima.
