Solution:   \int_{1}^{4}\left(x^{2}+x\right) d x

\begin{aligned} &=\int_{1}^{4} x^{2} d x+\int_{1}^{4} x d x \\ & \end{aligned}

=\left[\frac{x^{3}}{3}\right]_{1}^{4}+\left[\frac{x^{2}}{2}\right]_{1}^{4} \\

=\frac{64-1}{3}+\frac{16-1}{2} \\

=\frac{63}{3}+\frac{15}{2} \\

=\frac{42+15}{2} \\
