Hint: Here, we use basic union concept of matrix

Given: $\begin{bmatrix} a-b &2 \\ 5 & b \end{bmatrix}=\begin{bmatrix} 6 &5 \\ 2 & 2 \end{bmatrix}$ Find a

Solution:

Here, Both side has $2\times 2$ matrix

So we can write

$b=2$ .....(i)

$a-b=6$

$a-2=6$ [From eqn (i)]

$\therefore a=8$

So, value of a is 8.
