Please Solve RD Sharma Class 12 Chapter Algebra of Matrices Exercise 4.2 Question 2 Subquestion (iii) Maths Textbook Solution.

Answers (1)

Answer: \begin{bmatrix} 8 &7 \\ 6 &2 \end{bmatrix}
Hint: Multiply the A matrix with 3. Then, solve 3A - C.

Given: A= \begin{bmatrix} 2 &4 \\ 3 &2 \end{bmatrix} , B= \begin{bmatrix} 1 &3 \\ -2 &5 \end{bmatrix}   and  C= \begin{bmatrix}-2 &5 \\ 3 &4 \end{bmatrix}
Here, we have to compute 3A - C.
Solution:
3A-C=3 \begin{bmatrix} 2 &4 \\ 3 &2 \end{bmatrix}- \begin{bmatrix}- 2 &5 \\ 3 &4 \end{bmatrix}

                = \begin{bmatrix} 6 &12 \\ 9&6 \end{bmatrix}-\begin{bmatrix} -2 &5 \\ 3 & 4 \end{bmatrix}

                = \begin{bmatrix} 6+2 &12-5 \\ 9-3&6-4 \end{bmatrix}

                = \begin{bmatrix} 8 &7 \\ 6 &2 \end{bmatrix}

Note: Here, B is not mandatory.
