Please Solve RD Sharma Class 12 Chapter 4 Algebra of Matrices Exercise Very Short Asnwer Question 36 Maths Textbook Solution.

Answers (1)

Answer: $x=1 \: and\: y=\left ( -2 \right )$

Hint: Here we use the basic concept of matrix.

Given: $[3 x+y-y 2 y-x 3]=[12-53]$

Solution:

Here, Both side has $2\times2$ matrix

So we can write

$-y=2\\y=\left ( -2 \right )$ ...(i)

$\therefore 3x+y=1$

$3x+\left ( -2 \right )=1$

$\therefore 3x=3\\$

$x=1\\$ .....(i)

$\! \! \! \! \! \! \! \! LHS=2y-x=-5\\\\=2\left ( -2 \right )-1\\\\=-4-1\\\\=-5$

=RHS
