Please Solve RD Sharma Class 12 Chapter 4 Algebra of Matrices Exercise Very Short Asnwer Question 53 Maths Textbook Solution.

Answer: $b=2$

Hint: Here we use basic concept of algebra

Given: $\begin{bmatrix} a-b & 2a+c\\ 2a-b &3c+d \end{bmatrix}=\begin{bmatrix} -1 &5 \\ 0 & 13 \end{bmatrix}$

Solution:

Here both sides has $2\times2$ matrix

So,we can write

$a-b=-1$ ....1i)

$2a-b=0$ .....(2)

$\rightarrow$ Let's multiply (-2) with eqn (1)

$-2a+2b=+2$

$\! \! \! \! \! \! \! \! \! \! 2a-b=0\\ \overline{0+b=2}$

$b=2$
