The probability that a number selected at random from the set of members {1,2,3….} is \frac{1}{25}

Hint:

Identify number from the set of {1,2,………..100] which are perfect cube & hence find probability.

Given:

Given set of number is {1,2, 3,……….100}

Explanation:

S = {1,2,3………………….100}

n(S) = 100

Let A be the event that the number is cube.

A = {1,8,27,64}

n(A)=4

P(A) = \frac{n(A)}{n(S)}\\ =\frac{4}{100}\\ =\frac{1}{25}

Hence the required probability is \frac{1}{25}
