Solution: A : number of greater than 3 { 4 , 5 ,6 }

B : number of less than 5 { 1 , 2 , 3 , 4 }

\begin{aligned} &A \cap B=\{4\} \\ &P(A)=\frac{3}{6}, P(B)=\frac{4}{6}, P(A \cap B)=\frac{1}{6} \end{aligned}

By addition theorem of probability,

\begin{aligned} &P(A \cup B)=P(A) \times P(B)-P(A \cap B) \\ &P(A \cup B)=\frac{3}{6}+\frac{4}{6}-\frac{1}{6} \\ &=\frac{3+4-1}{6} \\ &=\frac{6}{6}=1 \end{aligned}
