Solution: P\left ( good \: item \right )=\frac{10}{16}

P\left ( defected \: item \right )=\frac{6}{16}

P (either good or defected item) = P (good item) + P (defected item)

\begin{aligned} &=\frac{10}{16}+\frac{6}{16} \\ &=\frac{16}{16} \\ &=1 \end{aligned}
