Given: A flash light 8 batteries out of 3 are dead.

2 batteries are selected without replacement.

Solution: Total number of batteries = 8

Total number of dead batteries = 3

Let A be the event of selecting first dead battery and B of selecting second dead battery

P(both dead are selected) ==P(A) \times P\left(\frac{B}{A}\right)=P(A \cap B)

\begin{aligned} &=\frac{3}{8} \times \frac{2}{7} \\ &=\frac{3}{28} \end{aligned}
