Answer: (b)

Hint: You must know the rules of finding probability.

Given: Probability of getting students I, II, III division

P(A)=\frac{1}{10}, P(B)=\frac{3}{5}, P(C)=\frac{1}{4}

Solution:

\begin{aligned} &P(A)=P(\text { students getting first division })=\frac{1}{10} \\ &P(A)=P(\text { students getting second division })=\frac{3}{5} \\ &P(A)=P(\text { students getting third division })=\frac{1}{4} \end{aligned}

\begin{aligned} &P(\text { student fails })=P(\bar{A}) \times P(\bar{B}) \times P(\bar{C}) \\ &=\left(1-\frac{1}{10}\right) \times\left(1-\frac{3}{5}\right) \times\left(1-\frac{1}{4}\right) \\ &=\frac{9}{10} \times \frac{2}{5} \times \frac{3}{4} \\ &=\frac{54}{200}=\frac{27}{100} \end{aligned}
