If A & B are independent then P(A \cap B)=P(A).P(B)

A & B are two independent events

Explanation:

It is given that , A & B are independent
We know,

P(A\cap B')=P(A)-P(A\cap B)

=P(A)-P(A).P(B)                                  { A & B are independent P(A \cap B)=P(A).P(B) }

\Rightarrow P(A\cap B^{-})=P(A)(1-P(B))

Hence, 

P(A\cap B')=P(A).(1-P(B))
